Method

  1. Prepare the leaves — Wash the taro leaves and remove the tough stems.
  2. Build the parcels — Layer several taro leaves, add corned beef, chopped onion and tomato.
  3. Add coconut — Pour coconut cream generously over the filling.
  4. Wrap — Fold the taro leaves over and wrap the whole parcel in banana leaf, tying it closed.
  5. Bake — Cook at 180°C for 2 hours, or in an earth oven.
  6. Lu Pulu is ready — Unwrap at the table — the taro leaves are eaten with the filling.
